South Yorkshire food banks

Families facing a crisis, or that have had a reduction in their benefits, may receive help from a food bank in the greater South Yorkshire area. Charities, churches, and other not-for-profit organisations will assist people that are struggling. There may be meals, food parcels, canned items, and other aid for individuals on a low income.

Most of the food provided in South Yorkshire is donated. The items come from local businesses, generous individuals, and church fund raisers. The council in Sheffield also works with the local organisations, such as the Handsworth Centre, to coordinate distribution to the needy.

People may be able to receive a box of food that has soup, tinned meats, fruits, vegetables, and more. The amount provided by a local food bank may be able to feed the family for a few days. It will change during the course of the year. The main centres in the region are below.
