The services are provided by different charities in the area.

Food poverty in Wrexham continue to grow. To address this crisis, Community Church, Trussell Trust, and the Salvation Army partner together to offer solutions. The food bank that was created will offer free parcels of groceries. What is provided in the box will help feed a family for up to 3 days, and the parcel will have tinned items, perishable goods, tea, baby nappies and more.

Social workers, nurses, or doctors can give a voucher to a family, which they can use this at the Community Church food bank. What is provided to the client will depend on donation levels, and no two bags of groceries may be the same.

The food bank is also run by the Salvation Army. They are a key member of the greater Wrexham Area Ministries. This not-for-profit is a charity that helps when people are all out of options. For more information on this Ministry programme, dial 01978 311076. Or there are other places to turn to for an emergency parcel to feed a family. They often require the applicant to have a voucher, however find additional places for free food.

Hot Meals and food parcels are also provided by Feeding the Roofless. The Community Church and Wrexham Area Ministries provide assistance to the homeless on the weekends. Hundreds of people are fed. The homeless person will also be signposted to housing schemes in Clwyd.

Community Church is part of the Christian based debt counselling organisation. It combines education along with direct, one on one assistance in dealing with finances. The team that are part of this counselling service will help a Wrexham family deal with unpaid debts on everything from credit cards to car loans and payday lending companies. It is difficult enough to keep up with bills these days, and excessive debts make it even more complicated.

The service is available two days per week. The church uses one full time member as well as volunteers. They take a holistic approach to helping with debt arrears.

Once the financial conditions have been approved from this free counselling service, then additional support is still provided. This means that if the debt management plan has been successful for the Wrexham client, then ongoing budgeting is given. The Ministries will also provide for job training and more.

The Community Church XLM scheme is for young people. It is a mentoring service that lasts as long as a year. The aim is to change any poor habits that the person has. It will help the young person in Wrexham improve their life skills around education and relationships. If those challenges are dealt with early, then the chances for success are much higher.
