Free food banks in Buckinghamshire

Several food banks are available to the less fortunate and low income in Buckinghamshire. People with a voucher from a social or care worker can drop in at a distribution center for a parcel of groceries and other non-perishable items, or receive other forms of practical support. The free food provided can last a few days, and it can help feed a family while they address the hardship they are facing.

There are a few main non-profit profit organisations that run these foodbanks in the region, and they include One Can, Trussell Trust, and some independent providers. Most of them also rely on partnerships with churches, volunteers and other providers in order to both collect groceries from local business and distribute the goods to the vulnerable.

One Can has several locations in Buckinghamshire. The charity provides  free emergency parcel of food to help families and individuals that are in a crisis. The boxes may have coffee, pudding, vegetables, groceries and other items so people can prepare a meal on their own.

Chiltern Trussell Trust food bank is located at 71 Broadway, Chesham, Bucks, HP5 1BX, and telephone is 01494 775668. They have several distribution centres in Buckinghamshire County, and the locations are below.

  • Calvary Parish, Community Suite, Church Of England Primary School, Orchard Paradise, Berryfields, Aylesbury HP18 0WS.

Free government food vouchers are provided by the council.  This is part of the Emergency Support Scheme. The government will provide up to a few days of free groceries, hot meals, tinned or canned goods, and fresh food too. Milton Keynes Council – The government can provide food vouchers as part of their local welfare scheme. New Life Church, Dunstable, 80a Houghton Road, Dunstable, Bedfordshire, LU5 5AD is another network site. The location can be called at 07874 200056. Volunteers collect items from supermarkets and restaurants, and they repackage the goods into a parcel. Up to 3 days of free groceries and food is provided from the Trussell Trust centre.

They also partner with New Life Church, Wilkinson Hall, and St Augustine’s Church. All of those locations may pass out the parcel to people with a voucher. The box may contain fresh fruits, tinned meat, and even healthy food for the elderly.

Independent free foodbanks in Buckinghamshire County

High Wycombe Society has free food or meals for older residents, such as pensioners, from the Pop-In-Centre. Open Door operates drop in centres that will offer individuals free meals or a parcel of food. In most cases, all of the assistance is provided before noontime, so people need to get to the charity as soon as possible.
