BT Basic tariff assistance scheme

Families on a low income and that receive benefits can get financial help from the BT Basic scheme. The programme will allow a customer to pay much less per month on their telephone and/or broadband services from British Telecom. It also provides free minutes of usage for their home phone.

All applicants need to be receiving some type of government benefits or welfare from their local council. This is the main criteria for the BT Basic Tarif Scheme. Or if they go over those amounts, additional fees may be put into place. The BT Basic tariff does now allow unlimited calls or international services.

British Telecom Broadband assistance – A basic tariff is in place for internet access to. This will allow a family on a low income to access the internet at a low price. It can provide them the ability to search for jobs, train, enroll into educational course, and do so much more. Having broadband can be helpful for a family on a low income that is working towards improving their lifestyle. Up to 15GB speed may be provided and the cost for the Broadband can be as low as £9 month.

Wi-fi is also part of Broadband assistance. BT has millions of hotspots across the country. They will be free to use. This means the family can access the internet from almost anywhere; a pub; school; library or countless other locations.

Applications are needed, and British Telecom will require proof of income, benefits, and more. The telephone number to ring for an application is 0800 800 864. The application will need to be completed and then returned to the post of BT plc, BT Basic, Durham, DH98 1BT. However the customer support team can go over the details on how to apply. It will often take 10 days or more to enroll into the scheme, if approved.
